Navdeep Bains is looking to win his third term as Mississauga-Brampton South's MP.
The Liberal candidate, who was born in Toronto in 1977, was first elected federally in June 2004 and was subsequently re-elected in January 2006.
In October 2005, he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister under former Prime Minister Paul Martin.
Bains, 31, currently serves as the Official Opposition Critic for International Trade.
Before entering politics, he worked in the finance department at Ford Motor Company as a revenue and cost analyst.
Bains resides in Mississauga with his wife Brahamjot and daughter Nanki.

Salma Ataullahjan, 56, immigrated to Canada from Pakistan 28 years ago.
The Mississauga resident is married with two children and has enjoyed a career in real estate for the past 18 years.
She founded the parents council at David Lewis Public School in Scarborough, where she has been involved for 16 years. She also served on the executive of the Pakistani Canadian Professionals and Academics, and helped organize a fundraiser for Credit Valley Hospital.
Ataullahjan has served as president and vice-president of the Canadian Pushtun Cultural Association .

Grace Yogaretnam

Grace Yogaretnam ran for the Greens in the 2006 federal election.
A resident of Mississauga since 1989, Yogaretnam, 26, was born in Calgary. She is currently pursuing a degree in environmental studies and political science at York University.
An active volunteer in various social justice organizations, Yogaretnam was awarded the Heaslip Scholarship in environmental and community leadership for her extensive volunteering and community involvement.

After running in the 2007 provincial election in Mississauga-Brampton South, where he lost to Liberal candidate Amrit Mangat, Karanjit Pandher is changing gears this year and running as a federal candidate.
Pandher, who was born in India, is 49. He has a university degree and attended law school for two years.
Pandher and his wife, Indra, have three children.

Tim Sullivan has been a truck driver and a worker politician for over 30 years.
In addition to his efforts to improve working conditions for truck drivers, he wants union workers to become more politically active.
